Deleting your absorvia data

absorvia is made by Truffle Techs L.L.C-FZ. This page explains how to delete the data absorvia holds, and what happens to each kind of data when you do.

Your writing library is on your device

Your thoughts are stored on your device, with an optional copy in your own iCloud if you turn on iCloud backup. absorvia has no account and no login, so there is no profile to close. Deleting the data on your device removes the writing itself.

Delete local data from inside the app

1. Open absorvia.
2. Tap the settings icon at the top left of the capture screen.
3. Scroll to the section named DATA.
4. Tap Delete All Data.
5. Confirm when the app asks.

This erases every thought, every reflection, every category and every setting stored on the device. It cannot be undone, so export first if you want a copy. Export Thoughts sits directly above the delete option and saves your writing as a file you keep.

Where recording recovery is supported, Delete All Data also removes recovery recordings. If you turned on iCloud backup, it also removes the copy in your iCloud; if iCloud cannot be reached at that moment, the app removes it the next time it can, and does not offer to restore it in the meantime. Copies exported to Photos, files or other apps remain outside this control. Device backups follow your platform settings.

Uninstalling removes the app’s local library, but does not immediately remove provider records or cancel a subscription.

Turning off reflections

AI reflections are optional. When enabled, relevant writing, recent excerpts and context such as recurring themes and writing preferences can be sent securely to our backend and, when needed, to OpenAI. A request can include more than one capture. The complete writing database is not uploaded as a library. Switch AI Reflections off in Settings under INTELLIGENCE to stop future AI processing.

What we hold, and for how long

• Your thoughts, reflections, categories and settings. Your writing library and local copies are stored on your device and removed by Delete All Data. Generated responses may also remain in the short-lived backend cache described below.
• Writing and context used for AI processing. Sent to our backend and OpenAI when AI is enabled. Original input text is not retained as a writing library by our backend. OpenAI API inputs are not used to train its models by default. OpenAI may retain standard requests for abuse monitoring, and background reports can use retained batch files. See the Privacy Policy for details and contact us about deletion of retained files.
• Cached generated responses. Our backend can retain response text, keyed by a hash of the input: one hour for short reflections, four hours for daily reflections and twenty-four hours for classifications. Responses can contain personal details. Deleting local data does not immediately remove these cached copies; they expire automatically. Pseudonymous fair-use and cost counters contain no writing and expire under the periods in our Privacy Policy.
• App identifiers, usage counts and crash reports. Our analytics and crash tools use pseudonymous identifiers. Records can remain associated with an installation or purchase even when we do not know your name. Contact us to request deletion; we will explain what can be located, removed or must be retained.
• Invite records. If someone installs absorvia through your invite link, our backend records, under pseudonymous identifiers, which invite brought them, and whether their subscription started. These records hold no writing and are kept for up to four hundred days.
• Subscription status. Held by Google Play, the App Store and RevenueCat for subscription operation, restores, transaction obligations and security under their applicable retention terms. Local deletion does not cancel a subscription or erase store purchase history.

The app does not request access to your contacts, location or health records. Saving a card may ask for photo-library permission. Writing you choose to use with AI can itself contain personal or sensitive information, as explained in the AI consent screen and Privacy Policy.

Ask us to delete anything else

Email [email protected] with the subject “Delete my data”. Tell us which device you used and roughly when. You do not need to include your private writing. Because absorvia has no login, this information may not identify all relevant records; we will explain what further information is needed to handle your request. Never send a password or authentication token. We respond within 30 days.
