Daylio is built for people who will not write. You pick a mood, tap a few activities, and a record builds itself. absorvia needs words, because words are what it reads.

What Daylio is for
Daylio presents itself as a micro-diary and mood tracker. Entries take seconds: choose a mood, tag what you were doing, and optionally add a note. Over time it produces statistics and charts from those taps.
The strength is the low effort. A record exists even on the days you would never have opened a journal.
What absorvia is for
absorvia works from a sentence. You write the thought as it arrives and one line comes back showing the part underneath it.
Because the input is language rather than a tap, what surfaces later is different. Undercurrent reads tensions and shifts in your own words, not counts of an icon.
Where they differ
- Input: a mood and tags, versus a sentence in your own words.
- Effort: Daylio is a few taps. absorvia is a short piece of writing.
- Output: Daylio produces charts and statistics. absorvia produces a line and, later, named patterns.
- What it can notice: counts and correlations, versus what you were actually saying.
- Both keep a free tier and offer a paid upgrade. Compare the current listings.
Who should pick which
Pick Daylio if the honest truth is that you will not write, and a two-tap record is better than none. Pick absorvia if writing is not the obstacle and being read is what you are missing.
Privacy and cost
Your thought library stays on your iPhone. There is no account and no cloud copy. Reflection is off until you turn it on. When it is on, only the thought you choose is sent to the absorvia server and to OpenAI, and that text is not used to train OpenAI's models. You can switch it off any time in Settings.
absorvia is free to start. Capture and organise without paying. Premium unlocks daily depth, deeper pattern surfacing, and Sit With It. It is a monthly or annual subscription. The annual plan begins with a 14-day free trial. Prices are shown in the app and on the App Store page.
Questions
Does absorvia track mood?
No. There is no mood scale and no chart of how you felt. It reads the words you wrote and surfaces what recurs in them.
Can I use absorvia in two taps like Daylio?
No. absorvia needs a sentence, because the reflection is generated from what you actually said.
Which is better for spotting patterns?
They spot different things. Daylio is strong on correlations between activities and mood. absorvia reads the themes in your writing.
Do either require an account?
absorvia has no account and keeps the library on the device. Check Daylio's current listing for its own backup and sync options.
Try it. Write one thought and see what comes back.
