A second brain, in the usual sense, is a personal knowledge system. Notes, links, highlights and files, organised so you can find them again.
That is a filing problem, and good tools solve it. Your own recurring thoughts are a different problem. They do not need retrieval. They need to be seen.
Storage versus reflection
Knowledge tools ask you to capture, organise and retrieve. Every step is work you do. The system holds what you put in and returns exactly that when asked.
absorvia asks for the capture only. It reads each thought and returns one line, the Echo. It reads across thoughts and returns the pattern. The system does the noticing, and nothing needs organising.
What a thinking system surfaces
Depth is the daily surface. Today's Pulse is one sentence about yesterday. Active Signals show what you keep circling. Today's Pattern names the thread running through recent captures.
Undercurrent is the long layer. It reveals tensions, shifts and identity changes across weeks, starting with simple signals and deepening as the record grows.
- No folders, tags, links or templates.
- No search, because nothing is filed. The pattern comes to you.
- Sit With It, in Premium, revisits any thought with a contextual prompt and one or two related Echoes from your history.
Use both
If you run a knowledge system, keep it. It is where reference material belongs. absorvia is for the thoughts that are not reference material: the worry you have written forty ways, the decision you keep circling, the thing you notice about yourself and forget.
Private by construction
Your thought library stays on your iPhone. There is no account and no cloud copy. Reflection is off until you turn it on. When it is on, only the thought you choose is sent to the absorvia server and to OpenAI, and that text is not used to train OpenAI's models. You can switch it off any time in Settings.
Cost
absorvia is free to start. Capture and organise without paying. Premium unlocks daily depth, deeper pattern surfacing, and Sit With It. It is a monthly or annual subscription. The annual plan begins with a 14-day free trial. Prices are shown in the app and on the App Store page.
Questions
Is absorvia a second brain app?
Not in the knowledge-management sense. It does not store files, links or highlights, and there is nothing to organise. It reflects on the thoughts you write and shows patterns across them.
Can I import my notes?
No. absorvia is for new thoughts, written in the moment. Reflection works on what you capture, not on an archive.
Can I export my thoughts?
Yes. Export Thoughts is in Settings, and Delete All Data is beside it. Your library is yours.
Does it sync between devices?
No. Your library lives on one iPhone by design. There is no account and no cloud copy.
Try it. Write one thought and see what comes back.
