A brain dump is the fastest way to stop a thought from circling. You write it down, it leaves your head, and you move on.
The problem is what happens next. In most apps, nothing. The thought sits in a list you never reopen. absorvia is built for the moment after the dump: it reads what you wrote and gives one line back.
Why brain dumps stall
Writing a thought down relieves pressure. It does not resolve anything. The same worry returns tomorrow in slightly different words, and you write it again.
Notes apps and journals are built for storage. They are excellent at keeping a record and silent about what the record means. You do the noticing, if you ever go back.
What absorvia does with a brain dump
You write a thought. absorvia reads the shape of it and returns a single line, called an Echo. Not a summary and not advice. A mirror that shows the part you had not quite said.
Write "I keep pushing this launch back" and the Echo might read "The delay may be the decision." You decide whether that lands. There is nothing to reply to and nothing to tidy.
- One thought in, one line back. No threads, no chat.
- Capture takes seconds. Reflection takes one glance.
- Thoughts stay as you wrote them. Nothing is rewritten.
What happens after a week
Dumping thoughts daily builds a record, and absorvia reads across it. The Depth surface opens with Today's Pulse, one sentence that holds yesterday. Below it, Active Signals show what keeps coming up, and Today's Pattern names the thread.
By the second week the Undercurrent layer starts to surface tensions and shifts across your captures. The small things you keep writing about become visible on their own.
Private by construction
Your thought library stays on your iPhone. There is no account and no cloud copy. Reflection is off until you turn it on. When it is on, only the thought you choose is sent to the absorvia server and to OpenAI, and that text is not used to train OpenAI's models. You can switch it off any time in Settings.
Cost
absorvia is free to start. Capture and organise without paying. Premium unlocks daily depth, deeper pattern surfacing, and Sit With It. It is a monthly or annual subscription. The annual plan begins with a 14-day free trial. Prices are shown in the app and on the App Store page.
Questions
Is absorvia a brain dump app?
You can use it as one. Capture is fast and unstructured. The difference is that each capture receives a one-line reflection, and patterns across captures surface over time.
Do I have to tag or organise anything?
No. Write and close. absorvia reads the shape of each thought and the patterns across them without folders, tags, or prompts.
Can I brain dump without the reflection?
Yes. Reflection is off until you turn it on. Without it, absorvia is a private, on-device place to write, and your library never leaves your phone.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. absorvia is iOS first. Android is on the roadmap with no committed date.
Try it. Write one thought and see what comes back.
