Rosebud is a conversational journal: you write, it responds, it asks a follow-up, and the entry becomes a dialogue. absorvia is the opposite of a chatbot. One line comes back, then silence.

What Rosebud is for
Rosebud presents itself as an interactive journal that responds to your entries, asks questions to help you go deeper, and tracks goals and themes over time. The conversation is the point: writing becomes an exchange.
What absorvia is for
absorvia does not converse. After each thought you receive an Echo, a single line that mirrors the part you had not quite heard yourself say. There is no follow-up question and nothing to reply to.
Depth is read across your captures rather than inside one exchange. Today's Pulse holds yesterday in a sentence. Undercurrent surfaces tensions and shifts across weeks. Sit With It, in Premium, revisits a thought with a contextual prompt and one or two related Echoes.
Where they differ
- Shape: Rosebud is a dialogue. absorvia is one line, once.
- Time: a Rosebud entry can run long. An absorvia capture fits inside the moment.
- Whose words: in a conversation, much of the text is generated. In absorvia, the words are overwhelmingly yours.
- Patterns: absorvia reads across all captures from day one. Check Rosebud's listing for how it surfaces themes.
- Data: absorvia keeps the library on-device with no account.
Who should pick which
Pick Rosebud if talking something through is what helps. Pick absorvia if a conversation feels like more work than the thought deserved, and one true line would do.
Privacy and cost
Your thought library stays on your iPhone. There is no account and no cloud copy. Reflection is off until you turn it on. When it is on, only the thought you choose is sent to the absorvia server and to OpenAI, and that text is not used to train OpenAI's models. You can switch it off any time in Settings.
absorvia is free to start. Capture and organise without paying. Premium unlocks daily depth, deeper pattern surfacing, and Sit With It. It is a monthly or annual subscription. The annual plan begins with a 14-day free trial. Prices are shown in the app and on the App Store page.
Questions
Can I ask absorvia questions?
No. It is not a chat. You write a thought and receive one line. The reading happens across your captures over time.
Does absorvia remember what I wrote before?
Yes, on your device. Undercurrent reads across your captures, and Sit With It brings back related Echoes from your history.
Is absorvia an AI coach?
No. It does not advise, set goals or hold you to anything. It reflects.
Where do my thoughts go when reflection is on?
