Overthinking is rarely one thought. It is one thought wearing forty different sentences, arriving at two in the morning and again on the walk to work.
absorvia does not stop the loop. It gives the loop somewhere to land, and it notices when the same shape keeps coming back.
absorvia does not diagnose, treat, or replace clinical care. If you are struggling, talk to a professional you trust.
Why writing it down is not enough
Writing a circling thought into a notes app moves it out of your head and into a list. The relief is real and it lasts about an hour.
Nothing reads the list. So the thought returns, you write a slightly different version, and the list grows into evidence that you keep thinking the same thing without ever seeing it.
What absorvia does instead
Each thought receives one line back. Not advice and not reassurance. A line that reflects the part underneath what you typed.
Write "I keep replaying that meeting" and the Echo might name what you are actually checking for. You decide whether it lands. There is nothing to reply to.
- Capture takes seconds, at any hour.
- One line back, then it closes. No conversation to maintain.
- Nothing is rewritten or corrected.
Seeing the loop from outside
The useful part arrives later. Active Signals show what keeps returning across your captures. Today's Pattern names the thread.
From around the second week, Undercurrent surfaces the tensions and shifts beneath the writing. The forty sentences resolve into the one thing they were about.
What this is not
absorvia does not diagnose, treat, or replace clinical care. If you are struggling, talk to a professional you trust.
absorvia has no crisis features, no therapist and no chat. If a thought is frightening you or will not let go, a person is the right answer, not an app.
Privacy
Your thought library stays on your iPhone. There is no account and no cloud copy. Reflection is off until you turn it on. When it is on, only the thought you choose is sent to the absorvia server and to OpenAI, and that text is not used to train OpenAI's models. You can switch it off any time in Settings.
Questions
Will absorvia tell me to stop overthinking?
No. It reflects what you wrote rather than advising you. There is no coaching and no instruction to think differently.
Can I write at three in the morning?
Yes. Capture is instant and works offline. There is no prompt to answer before you can write.
Is this therapy?
No. absorvia does not diagnose, treat, or replace clinical care. If you are struggling, talk to a professional you trust.
Does it show me my recurring thoughts?
Yes. Active Signals surface what keeps returning, and Undercurrent reads the tensions beneath your captures over weeks.
Try it. Write one thought and see what comes back.
